Fondazione Prometeo is a non-profit foundation established with the aim to support and promote the culture of our times with an interdisciplinary approach that combines music, figurative arts, literature and scientific research in the field of acoustical physics.
Its initiatives include didactics and production activities in the domain of contemporary music, musicological meetings, a laboratory of electroacoustics, editorial and recording projects.
The main objective of the foundation is the promotion of modern and contemporary music through the Ensemble Prometeo (formed in 2009) and the Traiettorie festival, which won the "Abbiati" prize of Italian critics in 2010 for its twenty-years activity.
The International Festival of Modern and Contemporary Music "Traiettorie" takes place in Parma every autumn since 1991. In more than 160 concerts, Traiettorie has hosted the most important international ensembles and soloist. The festival's artistic project has always pursued the promotion of historical and recent repertoire, with particular attention to electroacoustic and electronic music, developing also a substantial activity of premières and commissions to young composers.
